His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Musabeh Ahmed Alteneiji , Chairman of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock(SDAL) in the presence of Dr. Muhadtha Al Hashimi - Chairman of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, received a the delegation of the Bristol Veterinary school, headed by Tim Perkin to discuss cooperation frameworks in a number of research and scientific fields related to agriculture science, food and veterinary medicine and livestock care. The chairman of the department discussed with Professor Tim Parkin, Dean of the Veterinary College and Professor of Epidemiology, Professor Dr. Warwick, Professor of Zoology, University of Bristol, Government of Sharjah's efforts and plans under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at developing livestock resources and enhancing their contribution to the food security system s strategic vision. Dr. Khalifa Alteneiji said, "Over the past weeks, we reviewed with a number of specialists and academic institutions a number of topics relevant to agricultural and veterinary research sector and strengthened partnerships supportive of scientific research and development in the implementation of scientific and applied research methodologies and studies that support the objectives of agricultural and animal sustainability in Sharjah. His Excellency added, Scientific cooperation with relevant institutions enhances promising opportunities in implementing appropriate and stimulating climate initiatives for the agricultural sector and livestock production that enable it to translate into economic opportunities that contribute to leadership in promoting food security. In spite of the major challenges, Sharjah especially and the UAE in general have made a clear effort over the past decades to build an agricultural sector that is better able to contribute to diversity, By adopting sustainable and climate-smart agricultural patterns focused on agriculture, the quality of the local product and the enhancement of its competitiveness research ", based on innovative techniques and solutions and expanding the base of interest in agricultural and veterinary scientific studies and research
