During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the agricultural expertise and experience of the Agricultural and Livestock Department in addition to its efforts and plans to develop wheat cultivation and enhancing its contribution to the food security system and the application of sustainability practices in all its activities pursuant to the directives of H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, God preserve him and protect him, in conformity with the futuristic vision of Sharjah. Dr. Khalifa Alteneiji briefing the delegation on the wheat farm in Maliha, stressed the importance of scientific research in the field of wheat cultivation and combating its scourges, and working to strengthen the cooperation with specialized higher education institutions, adopting cutting-edge and sustainable agricultural technology and practices that serve wheat cultivation and agricultural development. A detailed explanation of the phases of the wheat farm project, spanning 400 hectares, followed by other phases, was given to the visiting delegation to reach the total area of 1900 hectares, which provided clean cultivation free of pesticides, chemicals and genetically modified seeds.
